About Sunco ... A brief history
|
Sunco Building Materials was founded in 1992 by Ron Jensen who established its first retail location in downtown Sechelt. At that time, the company sold recycled materials and offered a door pre-hanging service to complement the products they were able to provide. In 1998 the store was moved to its current location at 1945 Field Road.
In October 2007, Ron decided to retire and Sunco's new owners, Ross and Erin Storey moved to the Sunshine Coast to begin running the business.

| Since its inception, Sunco has grown from a one-man to a 10+ person operation. The company's product has also changed from primarily recycled goods to mostly new building materials. Today Sunco offers a huge selection of new doors and windows, skylights, garage doors, and related hardware, though they do continue to sell some used doors and windows. Sunco is also proud to offer the only door pre-hanging and custom wood window services on the Coast, in addition to free estimates, delivery, and installation services. |
